First let me start off by saying since my last post, I have completely paid off Rachel's engagement ring, as well as bought our wedding bands outright paid for, and talked to Rachel's father. I know it is an amazing feat, and it took lots of planning on my part, and keeping secrets from both my parents and Rachel. I'm still working on my Master's in Criminal Justice, and still working at Home Depot, even-though Rachel hates my employer. I am still looking for a better job, and definitely better pay no matter what.
For about three months Rachel and I had planned to go to Sukoshicon Birmingham, AL v. 4. We put a group together, I fronted the money for the event, and bought the supplies to make my costume. Rachel and I spent about four pain staking days making my costume, arguing over the best way to make it, and having fun. Our group consisted of my girlfriend Rachel, my friend Amber, Rachel's ex-boyfriend Dana, some guy named Ryan, and of course myself. Rachel, Amber, Dana, and I stayed in the hotel together, it was interesting. Dana tried coming onto Amber but she was not as interested as he believed her to be. Although they did kiss once, she's told us it was against her will, not to mention she had a bit to drink that night. So let me back up to earlier that day though. We explored the convention while waiting on Dana to show up, we where watching dub your own anime panel when he finally showed up. We then went outside and then came back in for the Crossplay 101 panel, where we met this awesomely hot guy. I am neither gay nor bi, but I do have to admit he was/is hot. His name is Rowan. We learned a lot from him in that panel, after all we had planned on doing crossplay on that Sunday for an April fools day joke. Afterwards we went outside to enjoy the bouncy castle they had set up. I had thought about proposing to Rachel while we where on the bouncy castle but the thought of getting kicked in the head accidentally ran through my mind. After the convention I told Rachel about this thought and she said she immediately imagined Dana kicking me in the head intentionally... Anywho back to my main event... After the bouncy castle Dana had to get something to eat and drink since he would be heading back to school for class, he got a fish taco and a diet coke which exploded all over him, the company who sold it to him gave him another diet coke.
After he got his fish taco we went to the Gazebo that the hotel had, we found out it was infested with wasps. Knowing that this was a wonderful place to actually propose to Rachel, I altered my proposal plans, instead of the long drawn out proposal I had planned, I just simply popped down onto one knee and just simply asked her "Rachel, Will You Marry Me?" To which she responded with a resounding "Yes!" She then tried to put the ring on her own hand when I gave her this look and grabbed the ring, she was like "Oh, so you want to put the ring on my hand, very well then..." So I put it on her hand and we had some pictures taken. That was the highlight of that day for us, maybe even the year, other than meeting Rowan.
Rachel and I did get to enjoy some alone time while Amber and Dana went to buy groceries at Walmart, it was nice to relish in the peace and quiet. That night was even more fun when we went to the Yaoi Trivia Panel, in which Rowan stripped out of his shirt into his corset, I have to admit he looked hot in the corset. Then the Yaoi Panel was also fun, I participated in the match the Seme/Uke event and won a prize which Rachel had me get the Uke door hanger thingy.
The next day Rachel and I spent most of the day in the room doing school work, and talking to eachother, although we did go down stairs for some of the events we wanted to see, like the Maid Café to see Rowan, and then went back upstairs to enjoy some peace and quiet while working on more school work, and I started calling Rachel, Seme and Semeru interchangeably, we both like me calling her that, Especially her. I most enjoyed laying there in her arms after I finished my school work. I've never had that much fun in my life, and all I was doing was laying there with my arms around her calling her Seme/Semeru and having her wrap her arms around me... It was unbelievably romantic. Amber and Dana where telling us about the Rave over dinner, we are sorry we missed it, but I am grateful that we did miss it because I got romantic alone time with Rachel. Both Friday and Saturday we drank, I tended to drink more than the others which was ok, because I drink more than they do anyways. Other than the Tv turning on at 6am on Saturday Morning, it was not a bad day... and after everyone came back to the room, Ryan joined us in the room Saturday night for some drinking, and Dana wouldn't stop talking or turn off the Damned TV... While they where watching tv, Rachel and I went to walmart to find some toiletries that I needed, because I had forgotten them. I ended up buying some Yugioh Cards and Getting a Winged Dragon of Ra! ... I later traded the rest of the cards for some rare cards from Ryan. So anyways after we got back to the hotel Rachel and I partook of some of the drinking and wanted to go to sleep but Dana wouldn't shut off the Damned tv... I don't know how but somehow we still managed to fall asleep. But before I went to bed I warned everyone not to eat breakfast at the hotel in the morning because they charge $7.00 for a standard continental breakfast, which is outrageous; most places give you a fee continental breakfast if you stay at their hotel, but not this place.
I woke up two hours ahead of everyone else on Sunday, to do some showering and shaving for the Crossplay event we had planned... I failed miserably, because I had not done this type of shaving in several years. The crossplay thing went fine. We had our Photo taken by the same guy who took it on Friday, it was interesting, and then before I changed out of the dress and stuff in the parking lot by my truck Rachel had Amber take our picture in the back of the truck. We had a long safe ride back home after leaving early from the con after playing Box of DOOM, it was fun Rowan poped out of the big box with something that looked like a sword... and yes I did change in the parking lot, I had Amber hold up my blanket between the truck and the passenger door so I could change, Rachel said she could see me but I didn't really care if she could or not, she is my Fiancé and she is entitled to see what ever she wants. We Had Lots of FUN!!!!
So Dana tried to hook up with Amber all weekend, and I heard he also tried to hook up with another chick at the Rave from Amber while she Danced with Rowan... any who long story short Dana maintained he didn't want a long distance relationship, yet he repeatedly came on to Amber, she told him she wasn't interested, and then sat on the bed and held hands with him while watching anime, I think she was indulging him while she was a little drunk, but still he should have left her alone after her first no... ok, I had my rant.
Since Rachel txted her father about our engagement, he originally said "We'll talk in person"... but Both her father and mother have come around to the idea of their daughter being engaged though I'd have to agree with Rachel they are in denial or at least partially. I LOVE Rachel with Everything I am, and I look forward to spending my life with her, and so HELP Me God if anyone tries to prevent that or stand betwixt us in any way...
Ok, well that is a long enough post for today, I could keep talking about stuff that has happened in my life, but I won't... It would make this post about 10 times longer... please look forward to my future posts...
